Safeguarding

Pastoral care is valued highly at St Mary's and is an important part of our commitment to offering a warm, caring and supportive environment. We also put a very high priority on keeping our site safe for all users.

The school has adopted the Sheffield Safeguarding Board Policies which can be  found in a file at the bottom of this page. The latest policies to be added to this are Female Genital Mutilation and Preventing Extremism and Radicalisation.  This has been the focus of training for our safeguarding leads who have disseminated this to staff.

We place a high priority on educating our children about the e-safety measures they must use when online.

Throughout our curriculum  the children are taught a wide range of health and safety aspects; they are taught the importance of their own responsibilities in looking after themselves and each other  and how they can keep themselves safe and how to judge risk.
