Phonics

Phonics is taught daily throughout FS2 and Y1 using the Read Write Inc scheme. The children are taught to blend (push sounds together) for reading and segment (separate sounds) for spelling and writing. Phonics is taught through a range of strategies including stories, games and direct teaching.
