Primary Maths Challenge

posted 11 Dec 2015, 01:39 by Lynsie Tuplin
Y6 recently took part in the annual Primary Maths Challenge run by the Mathematical Association. The children had to answer 25 questions in 45 minutes using their problem solving and reasoning skills.
An example question: In an election, only 50% of the citizens voted. Of these, 60% voted for the winning party. Which percentage of the citizens voted for the winning party? The scores were of a high standard and we had 2 gold winners, 2 silver winners and 5 bronze winners. Well done to all!
