Y1 Trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park

On Monday 16th October Year 1 had a super trip to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. The class saw lots of wonderful animals from meerkats to polar bears and lemurs to rhinoceroses.

Some of the more daring Year 1’s (including adult helpers and Mrs Waind!) held cockroaches, giant African snails and stroked Cornflake the corn snake.  Over looked by an amazing sultry red sun we enjoyed lovely weather and even picnicked outside. We all learnt lots more about animals and their adaptations.

The children behaved very well - so much so that a member of the public said “I just want to say how well behaved your school children are. I used to teach and in all my years I’ve never had such a good class.” She asked which school we were from and said we should all be very proud.

Well done Year 1!
