Y1 Trip to Crich Transport Museum

On Thursday the 30th June Year One went on a fun filled day to Crich Transport Museum. Our current topic is ‘Where do, and did, the wheels on the bus go?’ and our trip helped us to learn about a range of different type of transport and also transport from the past.

When we arrived at Crich we had a museum tour where we looked at different trams from the past. Some children had the chance to go on one of the oldest trams that was in the museum. This tram was pulled by a horse and we pretended to be the driver. We looked at trams through the ages and dressed up as drivers and conductors.

Later in the day we used our half pennies to buy us a ride on a tram. It was really exciting and we even had to move the seats around when we changed direction. The tram took us to the top of the village where we spent time exploring the woodland areas and some really interesting sculptures. All the sculptures were carved from wood and hidden in the trees.

We had such a fun day out in the sunshine!
