Y5 explore space!

To start their science topic on 'Space', Y5 were visited by Mobile Stars Planetarium. On entering the hall, the children were stunned into silence as a great silver dome rose before them. Excitement spread throughout the class as the children entered the dome by crawling through a dark tunnel. Garry from Mobile Stars demonstrated how dark it was inside the dome by switching the light off - you could literally not see the hand in front of your face! Then the space tour began. The ceiling was lit up by thousands of stars and Garry pointed out some famous constellations. As he did so, it felt like the dome itself was moving. Ms Tuplin felt decidedly queasy. It was a great way to start the topic and Garry said that Y5 were polite and well behaved!
