Get Involved

The Head Teacher and the teachers are very keen to welcome parents or grandparents into school to help in any way that they can offer. There is a variety of ways that you can help from general classroom help, helping out on trips, to hearing children read, working with groups for art and craft activities etc. If you have skills and you think you can share them with the children, the staff will be more than willing to utilise any time you have to offer.

Another opportunity for getting involved in school life is joining the Friends of St Mary's in their efforts. This can involve joining the committee, attending meetings, helping out at events or 'behind the scenes' work such as designing flyers or sourcing raffle prizes.

The governors of St Mary's are also volunteers. Two of the governors are elected by the parents. The majority of governors are foundation governors which means they are nominated by the Bishop.

If you would like to discuss any of these opportunities to get involved, please contact school.
