Admissions

Admissions are coordinated by Sheffield City Council and considered by our Governing Body.

All admissions to our school must be accompanied by the Supplementary Information Form (SIF) which can be found below.

September Admissions for Reception

At St Mary's, we offer a full time option for children starting school in September in our reception class. Our induction arrangements are as follows: Children are grouped randomly in groups of 7 or 8 and a new group starts school every other day until they have all started. The children will be in full time from their first day. In the summer term before starting school, families will be offered a home visit and play days. Start dates are shared with parents as soon as possible after places have been allocated.

In Year Applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to the school by completing the in-year admissions application form and returning it to Primary Admissions, Floor 5, North Wing, Moorfoot, Sheffield S1 4PL www.sheffield.gov.uk/pupiladmissions

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 23/24, will be applied.  (See admissions policy for 23/24)

Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission arrangements for more details.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.

If you have any questions in relation to in-year admissions please contact the school office via enquiries@st-marysgreen.sheffield.sch.uk or 0114 2848488  You may also wish to discuss in-year applications with the local authority via ed-admissions@sheffield.gov.uk or 0114 2735766/2735790
