There is an excellent and active Friends of St Mary's (FOSM) group that has a long tradition of supporting the school. They organise and arrange both social and fundraising events. The emphasis is on supporting the school and helping to create a sense of family and community. 

All parents automatically become members of FOSM when their child is admitted to school. New members are always welcome to come along to meetings and share their ideas. There is a committee which requires members but more informal help is always appreciated at events. 

FOSM support the school in various ways - buying leavers' hoodies, purchasing equipment, subsidising school visits and visitors and providing prizes amongst many other things. Their recent big project was fundraising for outdoor play equipment.
